3rd Party Ohmsett Testing

Testing was performed at Ohmsett on the 10th to the 14th of April 2017

The WindTrans team traveled to the Ohmsett base to demonstrate the performance of Zelda through a series of static lift tests pumping two standard test oils, Hydrocal 300-200cP and Calsol 8240-2000cP. “Our objective of these tests was to confirm all of our in-house testing that we have undergone during the last three years. WindTrans understood that the pump needed third party confirmation that the pump could do the following:

1. Can the pump truly self-prime without any external assistance?

2. Can the pump run at low rpm and provide high efficiency pumping with a consistent flow?

3. When the lift requirement or load changes can the pump provide the same consistent flow?

4. Can the pump provide continued service and operate even when the pump medium or viscosity changes?

5. Is it possible for the pump to save the user time?

“We quickly proved that our pump provides great support to the user, time savings, lift and volume capabilities.” The pump lifted the 17’ height capacity (the limit of the Ohmsett tanks) and operated without fail moving both test oils. The pump was consistent in its flow rate as the lift height increased during the tests. One man from the WindTrans team even use a single hand crank and succeeded in pumping Calso test oil at a lift distance of 12.5 feet, cranking at 40 rpm and delivered a vacuum of 17/9 in-Hg that provided a flow rate of 32 gallons per minute. “It was important for us to validate our technol¬ogy so that oil recovery systems, floating devices, and filtrations systems can now be designed and tested to enhance the pump technologies use.”

We are now testing a prototype weir skimmer design and in the near future testing a complete system at Ohmsett.

The confidence in our pump is without question and we look forward to making a difference in a number of different service industries.
